Michael Griffin, Ph.D., is the Provost of 海角直播 and has been with 海角直播 for over eighteen years.聽 As Provost, he is a member of the College鈥檚 Executive Council. 聽聽He began as the Director of Service Learning and leader of global immersion experiences.聽 After earning his doctorate, he became an Assistant Professor of Theology.

In 2015, he became Chair of the Holy Cross Theology Department and founding Director of the College鈥檚 Saints & Scholars Institute.聽 After earning tenure in 2017, Griffin transitioned into the role of Senior Vice President, leading efforts across the College, in particular in the areas of mission, enrollment and tri-campus collaborations with Saint Mary鈥檚 College and the University of Notre Dame.聽 In Fall 2021, Griffin also took on the role of Interim Provost and has served as the Chief Academic Officer of the College. He is the author of the 2014 book, 鈥淭he Politics of Penance: Proposing an Ethic of Social Repair.鈥� He also co-edited a book on health care, medicine, and social justice, entitled 鈥淚n the Company of the Poor.鈥�

He began his career working for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and then teaching at a Holy Cross Brothers high school in Washington, DC., returning to Notre Dame to enter formation at Moreau Seminary. Though he discerned this was not his path, he completed his Divinity degree and began working at 海角直播 in 2004. While teaching, he earned his doctorate in Moral Theology.

Monica Markovich is the Executive Vice President and a member of the Executive Council.聽 She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and earned her Master of Public Affairs with a concentration in financial management from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. In her role, she is the chief financial officer of the College.

Following graduation, she worked for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, advancing from program manager to director of policy and programs for Adult, Career and Technical Education during her five years there. In that position, she managed a $25 million budget, a significant portion of which involved federal and state grants.

Before coming to 海角直播, she worked at the University of Notre Dame as an analyst for the Office of the Executive Vice President. She oversaw a variety of special projects, as well as conducted extensive analysis and drafted reports on strategic university issues. Monica credits much to her supportive husband, Chip, and their five children.

Dr. Lynn Hubert is the Senior Vice President for Mission Advancement at Holy Cross. Dr. Hubert will serve as the College鈥檚 chief advancement officer with the principal responsibility for designing and implementing a comprehensive institutional advancement program consistent with the College鈥檚 strategic goals and direction. She is also a member of the Executive Council of the College.

Dr. Hubert holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Public Relations from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, a Master of Arts in English and Linguistics from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, and a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

She has spent nearly the entirety of her 33-year career working in higher education advancement, 18 of those years working for the University of Notre Dame where she raised more than $210 Million during her tenure, including securing eight-figure gifts for the Notre Dame Law School, the College of Science, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Hesburgh Libraries.

In her previous position as Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President at Ave Maria University, she provided leadership support for the Office of Advancement, assisted the President with university projects and initiatives, worked closely with members of the Board of Trustees, and recently led and completed the search for the university鈥檚 Vice President for Advancement. She also worked collaboratively with the provost and faculty members to write and design advancement support materials, case statements, proposals, and digital marketing projects alongside the marketing department.

Previously, Lynn served as a Senior Director of Principal Gifts at the University of Notre Dame (2020-2023), Director of Regional Development (2006-2020), and Director of Major Gifts (2005-2006). She also has served as the Executive Director of Development for the College of Engineering at Utah State University in Logan, Utah; Director of Development, College of Business, University of Missouri-Columbia; Director of Institutional Advancement, Missouri Western State University; Director of Development and Public Relations, St. Gregory鈥檚 University; and Director of Development and Public Relations, Conception Abbey and Seminary College.

She has more than 30 years of advancement and university relations experience in the areas of public relations, annual fund, campaign implementation, proposal writing, major and principal gifts, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, and stewardship. Lynn and her husband, Dan, who is the executive director for institutional effectiveness and student success at Ave Maria University, have three children. They enjoy golfing, hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with family. Lynn and Dan are parishioners at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger, Indiana.

Dr. Andrea Welch has 19 years of higher education experience and currently serves and the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Engagement.聽 In her role Dr. Welch is part of the Executive Council and is responsible for enrollment and retention as well overseeing all student life programs and services for the College.

From 2006鈥�2015, she held various positions within student affairs and academic affairs at Indiana University South Bend, culminating in her role as the director of advising for the School of Education. During her tenure at Indiana University South Bend, she gained academic experience in curriculum development, program accreditation processes and teaching. As director of advising, she focused on enrollment management and retention, and with her at the helm, her advising team increased education student retention. Dr. Welch also served as associate vice chancellor for student affairs at Ivy Tech Community College in South Bend, Indiana, where she was again responsible for enrollment management and retention. Under her leadership, the Ivy Tech South Bend campus closed the gap of enrollment. At Valparaiso University, Welch oversaw institutional retention, programs, initiatives, and support services, which included the management of four retention-based committees. She developed, coordinated, facilitated, and evaluated the University鈥檚 retention efforts and took the reins on broader issues of persistence and completion, playing a critical role in the University鈥檚 overall goals for student enrollment.

Welch also served as Vice President for Enrollment Management at Chicago State University. In her role, she created and implemented a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan. The plan included priorities to improve policy and operations in the offices of admissions, financial aid, and registrar; coordinating technological improvements; creating marketing/communication initiatives and establishing strong internal and external partnerships. Most recently, Welch served as Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing at Hiram College. With her team and campus collaborations, the college exceeded enrollment and student net tuition goals, implemented new marketing and branding strategies. In addition to admission, financial services, and marketing, Welch also played a lead role in developing retention strategy for academic support services, student affairs, and athletics. Throughout her personal and professional experiences, she has acquired a passion for advocacy for student access and success.

She has served in numerous capacities as a change agent to increase communication and collaborative initiatives within and across institutions. Creating a culture of student-driven and data-informed practices has been a successful strategy in each of her higher education experiences.

Welch has mentored and served many underrepresented student populations. She is also a frequent guest lecturer and has presented at national conferences including the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and the National Symposium on Student Retention (NSSR). Welch holds a Bachelor of Science in Interpersonal Communication from Ohio University 鈥� Zanesville, Ohio, a Master of Science in Education in College Student Personnel from Ohio University and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Indiana State University.

Dianne Barlas, D.Min., has been part of the 海角直播 Theology department for nineteen years, holding positions of Associate Professor, Assistant Director of the Saints and Scholars Summer Institute, Director for the Office of Global Studies, Director of First Year Studies and College Seminar, Division Chair of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Director of Academic Assessment. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner鈥檚 Certificate from Purdue University, a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame, and a Doctorate of Ministry in Practical Theology (Concentration in Spirituality) from the Catholic Theological Union.

Her primary goal is providing leadership across the College by creating a community of formation involved in the intellectual, social, and spiritual traditions of the universal Catholic Church. Capturing the zeal for the education of our founders on our campus and in our local community is a priority. As President Clark has declared, 鈥榦nce a community college, Holy Cross is now a college for this community,鈥� is the focus of her work. She hopes to bring a sense of call and vocation to our dedicated community of educators and staff, as well as, our students. This involves an openness to identifying and encouraging leadership in all areas of the College to accomplish the shared work of bringing healing and hope to our community and the world. Introducing the Holy Cross’ principles of Catholic Education where information, formation, and transformation are central to all aspects of the College’s operations.

Mike Brach is the Vice President for Development and brings over 30 years of experience as a higher education administrator. His diverse expertise spans fundraising, strategy and planning, information technology, and academic program leadership.

Prior to returning to Holy Cross, Mike served as Campus Data Steward in the Office of Information Technology at the University of Notre Dame. He has held fundraising positions at Regis University (Director of Development), the University of Colorado (Assistant Vice President, CU Foundation), the University of Notre Dame (Senior Director of Development), Valparaiso University (Associate Vice President for Advancement), and 海角直播, (Vice President for Advancement). Mike also directed the executive degree programs for Notre Dame鈥檚 Mendoza College of Business prior to transitioning to the University鈥檚 Office of Information Technology.

Mike obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Indiana University. His wife Ruth is a physician assistant in the Indiana Health Center clinic serving South Bend鈥檚 Center for the Homeless. Together, they are Holy Cross, Notre Dame, and University of Colorado parents. Mike鈥檚 youngest son is a freshman at Mishawaka Marian High School
