will celebrate its annual day of giving, now known as听Holy Cross Day, on April 16, with early giving opening April 1.听
Holy Cross Day is a one-day, community-wide effort that brings together alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends to support the College and its students. This year, the initiative places a strong emphasis on听student-led projects, giving students the opportunity to听identify听needs on campus and develop proposals to address them.听
Student groups were invited to听submit听ideas supported by detailed plans and budgets, with selected projects becoming part of the Holy Cross Day campaign. The proposals reflect a range of priorities across campus life, academics, and mission.听
Among them is a student-developed plan to organize a civil rights educational trip to Washington, D.C., for members of the Black Student Association. Another proposal focuses on enhancing student study spaces through updates to the campus library, while a sustainability initiative aims to compost unused dining hall food and create a campus garden.听
鈥淭his is an opportunity for our students to take ownership of ideas that matter to them and to the campus community,鈥� said Sarah Charles, Director of Development, Annual Giving & Operations. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e identifying needs, building thoughtful plans, and inviting others to be part of bringing those ideas to life.鈥�听
In addition to student-led efforts, Holy Cross Day will support key institutional priorities, including academics, athletic scholarships, and student programs.听
Gifts of all sizes contribute to the effort, with participation from across the Holy Cross community playing听a central role听in the day鈥檚 success.听
Early giving opens April 1, allowing supporters to make their impact ahead of April 16.听
