This re-appointment and contract extension听reflect听the Board鈥檚鈥痑nd Members鈥欌�痙eep confidence in Dr. Clark鈥檚 leadership and the direction鈥痑nd future鈥痮f the College鈥痑s it celebrates the sixtieth anniversary of its founding in 1966. In a season defined by both momentum and mission, Holy Cross continues to move forward鈥痑s an鈥痑cademically excellent, faithfully Catholic,听and Holy鈥疌ross鈥痩iberal鈥痑rts听education, with鈥痑鈥痬ission鈥痶o educate and form鈥痵tudents with the competence to see and the courage to act.
President Clark became the鈥疌ollege鈥檚鈥痜irst lay leader in鈥�2022, after鈥痑 celebrated鈥痶hirty-five-year鈥痗areer鈥痑s an executive leader鈥痠n both secondary and higher education at Congregation of Holy Cross鈥痠nstitutions.

Under听Dr. Clark鈥檚 leadership, the College has听witnessed听record enrollment growth听of more than 40% since 2022,听setting a bold new pace that defies the direction of higher education nationwide.听This momentum is further听fueled听by record-breaking philanthropic support, with 2025 contributions surpassing $9.4 million.
Elevating academic excellence听and enhancing student support have been core focuses听for the College. With the addition of new majors, hiring of new faculty, the creation of new Pathway Programs in business and听health听sciences, and听by investing in student services and support听with a听robust Office of Student Success which provides academic advising, mental health and wellness support, career development, and success coaching.听The College also launched a new Integrated Curriculum听that is rooted in the Catholic听Intellectual Tradition, the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, and the charisms of the Congregation of Holy Cross.听Through this curriculum,听Holy Cross students are formed to make connections across disciplines, think critically and collaboratively, lead and serve with virtue and compassion, and live their vocation with purpose.
Additionally, through a partnership with the University of Notre Dame and the Lilly Endowment鈥檚 College and Community Collaboration, Holy Cross launched the Center for Leadership and Professional Excellence in 2025.听Representing听海角直播鈥檚 bold new investment in the future of work, the CLPE will听be in听the heart of downtown South Bend inside the reimagined South Bend Tribune building. Blending innovation with tradition, the CLPE bridges the gap between a liberal arts foundation and the fast-moving demands of today鈥檚 workforce. Through flexible, accredited, and human-centered programs, the CLPE prepares students and professionals to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact鈥攊n their careers and their communities.
The College听campus is also听experiencing a听transformation.听In 2024,听the College opened a new sacred space, the Devotional Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows.听Last spring, the College听broke ground听on听the first new residence hall in a decade听and听launched鈥痑nd completed the first round of expansions to鈥痠ts athletic complex, modernization of academic and instructional spaces听and听science labs, including听establishing听the College鈥檚 first-ever neuroscience lab.
Plans are also underway for a new鈥疭tudent Union鈥痶hat will鈥痠nclude expanded space for student dining, a ballroom and conference space, student study and collaborative spaces, and an adoration chapel听as well as听expanded鈥痵tudent services听to听support mental health and wellness, advising and career development, business鈥痠nnovation, and community collaboration,鈥痳eflecting the College鈥檚 readiness to invest thoughtfully in the holistic formation of its students.
