With the backdrop of an expanding athletic complex and a soon-to-be-replaced parking lot behind them, Holy Cross broke ground on a new $12 million residence hall鈥攖he first new building on campus in a decade and a visible symbol of its ongoing transformation.

Set to open in time for the 2026鈥2027 academic year, the 29,000-square-foot residence hall will house 114 students and feature modern community spaces, study lounges, a chapel, and outdoor gathering areas forming a new residential quad. The project arrives during a period of unprecedented momentum for the College, which recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new athletic complex just days earlier.

President Dr. Marco Clark reminded attendees of the spiritual foundation beneath the bricks and beams.

鈥淲e are not just builders鈥攚e are His workers,鈥 Clark said. 鈥淭his project affirms our belief that the daily rhythm of residential life鈥s central to student formation. These aren鈥檛 just rooms. They are spaces of encounter鈥攚here students will grow in faith, friendship, and purpose.鈥

Clark pointed to a future vision that includes multiple new residence halls and a campus quad alive with student life.

鈥淲hen these doors open, 114 more Saints will call this campus home,鈥 Clark said. 鈥淎nd what we begin today will shape generations of Saints to come.鈥
