Dr. 脕ngel de Jes煤s Cort茅s is a Professor of History at 海角直播. Cort茅s is an intellectual historian of the Gilded Age, with interests in the interface of science and religion, the history of colleges and universities, sectarianism and the concomitant rise of secularization. He is the author of Sectarianism & Orestes Brownson in the American Religious Marketplace (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017), and reviews books for Pacific Historical Review, Choice, and Religious Studies Review. For a recent work, see 鈥楬enry Adams鈥檚 Protean Views of the American Empire, 1890-1905,鈥� Journal of the Gilded Age & Progressive Era 21 (2022): 168-181. Cort茅s is currently at work on a study of British and American religious thought regarding select Pacific Islands in the Gilded Age.
